In your prehabilitation journey, it will be important to get in enough protein and a variety of foods from the different food groups!

Research shows that getting a certain amount of protein throughout the day helps to build and maintain muscle and strength. Building and maintaining muscle before surgery helps to lower complications during and after surgery. 25-30 grams of protein in a meal or snack has been shown to provide the best muscle-building power. Eating a variety of foods from the different food groups is also important to ensure your body is nourished during recovery!
